Illustrative assumptions
Prefilled APRs, payments, deposits, fees and residual values are examples. They are not live market quotations. Replace them with your own written offers. A representative APR is not necessarily the APR you will receive.
Vehicle value
The expected car value is supplied by you. Actual value will depend on the vehicle, age, mileage, condition, specification, market demand and timing of sale. The sensitivity range is illustrative and is not a valuation or forecast.
Finance calculations
Calculated payments use the figures entered and a standard effective monthly-rate approach. Real agreements may treat fees, deposits, payment dates and interest differently. If an agreement continues beyond the comparison date, the calculator adds any unpaid final fee you entered to its estimated finance balance. Any outstanding amount remains an estimate and must not be used as a settlement quotation.
PCP
For like-for-like comparison with ownership methods, the calculator assumes the PCP final payment is made and the car is kept. If you return the vehicle instead, mileage, condition, damage and other contractual charges may apply. If you refinance the final payment, additional interest is likely.
Lease
Lease comparisons assume the initial rental, regular rentals and end charges you enter. You do not retain the car. The tool may not capture early-termination charges, maintenance packages, excess mileage, damage standards or administration fees unless you include them.
Costs not included
Unless explicitly entered, results exclude insurance, fuel or electricity, servicing, maintenance, repairs, tyres, road tax, parking, opportunity cost of cash and tax consequences. Some of these costs may be identical across methods; others may not be.
Check before committing
Read the finance agreement and pre-contract information. Confirm the total amount payable, number of payments, APR, all fees, ownership position, early-settlement rights, mileage terms and what happens at the end. Check the provider or broker on the FCA Financial Services Register and seek independent professional advice if you are uncertain.
